Angela Stanford of Team USA (playing in her fifth) and Azahara Muñoz of Team Europe (her second) have been there before. But when The Solheim Cup began Friday at Colorado Golf Club in Parker, Colo., Team Europe"s lineup had two PING pros who are rookies in the event: Caroline Masson of Germany and Giulia Sergas from Italy. Europe is defending the Cup but has never won on U.S. soil.
Masson, a third-year pro, finished fourth on the European points list. She earned her first Ladies European Tour title in 2012.
Sergas, in her 12th season on the LPGA Tour, was a captain’s selection, largely on the strength of her four top 10s this year.
