The inspiring new iBlade iron is distinguished by the softest, purest feel we’ve ever achieved in an iron, with the workability and control to shape shots on command. Through extensive research and observation of leading tour professionals, PING engineers designed the clean, compact iBlade iron to surpass the expectations of skilled golfers who rely on the precision and control to execute the most demanding shots in the game.
The thin face (half the thickness of the S55 iron) yields greater ball speeds for increased distance throughout the set with higher overall trajectories and precise control. A hydropearl chrome finish repels water for more control and helps minimize fliers from wet conditions and lies in the rough.
The unprecedented feel is achieved through a combination of soft 431 stainless steel and a larger surface area behind the face that houses an elastomer insert. The insert is "activated" at impact, resulting in more vibration damping in your hands for a softer feel and pleasing sound.
Nearly "pure" tungsten toe weights (netting a 70% increase in mass relative to the S55 iron) are pressed into the toe of every head to increase MOI, a key factor in the precision of the iBlade iron.
Refined bounce angles and ample heel relief, optimized with the same sole width as the S55 iron, produce a workable sole design for confident shot making from all conditions. Further precision comes from the milled tour-spec grooves and precision-machined fly-cut face.

PING offers a variety of shaft flexes in steel and graphite to meet your needs and preferences. Selecting the proper shaft flex for your swing will help you get the most distance and accuracy from every shot. Generally, players with faster swing speeds require stiffer shafts to keep the ball trajectory lower, while players with slower swing speeds will require more-flexible shafts to produce a higher ball trajectory.
The choice of steel or graphite shafts is usually based on preferences for weight and/or feel. Players seeking a lighter overall weight and/or a softer feel in their irons may prefer graphite shafts, while players who prefer a standard-weight club with a firmer feel may prefer steel shafts.
We recommend that you get fit for the shaft that allows you to play your best golf. Whether that’s a softer, lighter shaft with a higher launch or a heavier, stiffer shaft with a lower trajectory, a PING Certified Club Fitter can help you find the shaft that brings consistency to your game.
|Grip||Size | Color Code||Description|
|Golf Pride New Decade MultiCompound||The New Decade® MultiCompound is an innovative hybrid grip that fuses the positive performance of rubber and cord. It features Brushed Cotton Cord in the upper hand area for firm all-weather control, and a soft rubber material in the lower hand for ultimate feel and responsiveness.|
|PING 5L||The 5L grip features a firmer texture in the upper portion to help control direction and a softer texture in the lower portion for enhanced feel. It is available in two versions - round for clubs with PING's Trajectory Tuning+ Technology, and ribbed for the hybrids and irons.|
PING offers a variety of grip sizes and styles to fit different hand sizes and texture preferences. Since grip size influences your wrist action, and therefore the direction of your shots, it is commonly used by fitters to affect ball flight.
PING color-coded grips are available in six different diameters, and can be further customized with grip tape according to your needs. Once the neutral grip color code has been determined based on hand measurements, golfers may consider smaller diameter grips to help control fades and slices, or larger diameter grips to help control draws and hooks.
The body of the iBlade iron is precision cast from a high strength-to-weight ratio 431 stainless steel, resulting in the softest, purest feel we've ever achieved in an iron. With the workability to shape shots on command, the compact iBlade head delivers consistently precise distance and trajectory control that surpass skilled players' expectations.
PING engineers -- good players themselves -- designed the iBlade with the mindset of the best players in the world. A thinner top rail, minimal offset, straight lead edge and sharp high toe will appeal to the eye of the discerning player. Refined bounce angles and ample heel relief produce a workable sole design. Further precision comes from the milled tour-spec grooves and precision-machined fly-cut face.
The engineering team ensured every club in the iBlade set delivers exceptional distance while improving overall gapping. A much thinner face yields greater ball speeds for increased distance throughout the set with higher overall trajectories and precise control.
Forgiveness is also factored into the design. Nearly "pure" tungsten weights are pressed into the toe of every head to increase the MOI. The weights are subtly concealed to maintain the clean head design. With a very high MOI for an iron its size, the iBlade iron is our most forgiving blade-style model to date.
